Last month there weren’t any books that I was interested in and this month there were too many that I wanted. Here are the three that I chose.
The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich. This is a YA novel that follows a good boy and a bad boy who are both competing to win the same girl. The losing guy has to be killed but then unexpected feelings get involved and threaten them both.
Since We Fell by Dennis Lehane. I read Shutter Island and loved it so I was excited to see Dennis Lehane as a choice this month. This is a psychological thriller and it follows Rachel who is a former journalist, who now lives as a virtual shut-in after having a mental breakdown. Now she enjoys an ideal life with her ideal husband but then one day something happens and her ideal life starts to frey.
And We’re Off by Dan Schwartz. I believe this is a YA novel. It’s about a teenage girl who is an artist and enjoys everything about the arts, just like her grandfather, who offers her an all-expenses-paid summer trip to Europe and all she has to do is create an original piece of work at every place she goes and send it back home to him. She’s in but her mother is less than thrilled and in the weeks leading up to the trip they are very disconnected with each other. When saying goodbye at the airport terminal, Alice, Nora’s mother decides to go on the trip with her.
Those are the books I got and I’m very excited to read them all. And We’re Off is going to be the perfect summer read.
